Emphasizing the theatricality in rock, Alice Cooper’s stage shows brought to life, and death, the “little psycho dramas,” as Cooper has called them. In macabre make-up and often draped in a live boa constrictor, Cooper brought horror movies to musical life using a guillotine and dolls simulating dead babies as props. By the mid-1970s the band Alice Cooper was defunct. Since then Cooper, as a solo performer working with various musicians, has released numerous albums. In 2011 Alice Cooper, the band, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
